Detailed 7 Days Birding Safari to Uganda

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda

On your arrival for the amazing 7 Days Birding Safari to Uganda, look out for your bird guide holding a placard with your name written on it. You will be later transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, you may choose to either rest or go birding at the Entebbe botanical gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Uganda’s largest National Park. We will have a stopover in Masindi for lunch then proceed to the top of the spectacular falls.

Day 3 of 7 Days Birding Safari to Uganda: Game drive – birding

After early morning breakfast, with packed lunch, we will go birding on a birding – game drive taking the best tracks expecting to see a big number of savanna birds along with other wildlife. Among the many species you should expect include; The Secretary Bird, and The Giant among others.

Day 4: Nature Walk – Launch cruise on the Nile

An early rise before sunrise, we go birding on foot with a game ranger for the early and late morning active birds. We will get back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation and in the afternoon, for a 3-hour launch cruise on the river Nile having a chance to sight the elusive shoebill.

Day 5 of 7 Days Birding Safari to Uganda: Game drive and Transfer to Budongo Forest

You will have one more game drive as you exit the park as you are transferred to Budongo Forest reserve for another ultimate birding experience.

Day 6: Budongo Forest Reserve

Here is a Prolific Birdlife with two species not found elsewhere in East Africa: 10 of the 22 species of Sudan–Guinea Savanna biome and 93 of the 144 species Guinea–Congo Forests biome that occurs in Uganda have been recorded at this site.

Rare species to catch here will include the Puvel’s Illadopsis, Nahan’s Francolin, the Chocolate–Backed Kingfisher, White-headed Saw-wing, White Wagtail, Black-eared Ground-Thrush, Little Crake, Yellow-billed Barbet, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher and many more.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe

This being the last day, we will bird your way to the airport.
